Synopsis

This course includes exercises, discussion and presentations inside which attendees apply the latest findings from researches on coaching, mentoring, positive psychology, personal strengths and personality. The approach is to facilitate experience sharing, knowledge & skills transfer, self-reflection and attitude shaping in a highly engaging way to ensure that attendees could coach and mentor team members effectively in their workplace.

Course Objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Grasp the difference of coaching, mentoring, motivating and instructing team members
  • Coach / Mentor / Leading / Instruct team members with different strategies according to different working attitudes and career needs
  • Speak inspiring and motiving questions to team members in order to drive actions

  • Satisfy staff members by inspiring them their growth needs through systematic coaching and mentoring steps

Audience

This course is intended for project leaders who need to coach, mentor, inspire and motivate team members. This course is intended for people manager/project managers/ program managers/ team leaders/ team members who want to hone their people management skills to maximize the project benefits (satisfied customers, happier upper management, higher teamwork, higher quality, faster delivery on limited resources) by coaching, mentoring, inspiring and motivating team members – in the project environment so that they could unleash the maximum human capital potential of staff members.

Prerequisites

Before attending this course, project leaders must have:

  • Strong knowledge of project management e.g. PMPs / PRINCE2 Practitioners / Professional training on project or general management
  • Some experience of managing team members in working environment
  • Some understanding of the stakeholder management processes and tools stated in any international management guide or book or BoK
  • Ability to share, articulate and present knowledge, experience, skills and information in a systematic and clear way
  • Willingness to join the class activities and learn from each others in a highly interactive manners
