Seminar on “Introduction to Design Thinking – A practical and creative problem-solving approach” 

PMI Hong Kong Chapter is proud to introduce Mr. Philip Lai as our guest speaker to share on the captioned topic. Mr. Lai an Independent Management Consultant, and he acquired his PMP credential in 2009. He left his 2 years banking / insurance risk management roles during Asian financial crisis in HK and became a Web Designer / Sales Consultant / Agile Developer for Retail, Telco, Hospitals, Universities and start-ups in Canada during dotcom-era in 2001. He then spent his past 13 years as Project / Program Manager / IT Consultant / Presales for vendors such as Cisco Systems, Oracle, IBM etc. leading USD50M+ projects globally and for APAC and Japan regions. In recent years, he helped lead and generated multi-US millions Digital Transformation programs and projects partnering top consulting firms and startups.

About the Topic:

Introduction to Design Thinking – A practical and creative problem-solving approach

This seminar will provide participants with a foundational understanding of the principles and mindset of Design Thinking and the user-centered design process. It will introduce techniques such as observation, customer journeys and personas which can be used to discover the hidden opportunities in understanding others and their needs. It will also explain how to define and reframe the problems, and to apply the conceptual tools and conduct sessions to identify innovative & sustainable solutions.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Philip Lai

Philip is certified in PMP, Scrum Master and has developed an integrated agile approach using PMBOK, Agile SCRUM, Lean Kanban, Design Thinking.  He completed his MIT Design Thinking Executive Program and holds an Honors bachelor’s degree in economics with Game theory specialization from University of Toronto, Canada.
