AI Talent SIG Introduction
The AI Talent Special Interest Group (SIG) of PMI Hong Kong Chapter is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of AI-enabled project leaders. We align closely with the HKSAR’s AI strategy and actively support the national Belt and Road Initiative, promoting responsible AI adoption through an ESG-inspired framework—emphasizing Engagement, Soft Skills, and Governance. Our mission is to advance global AI governance standards, support professional development in AI, enhance communication and management efficiencies, and contribute to strategic regional and global initiatives while bridging international AI standards with local practices.
Our Mission
The AI-Talent SIG serves as a dedicated forum for nurturing AI-ready talent, promoting ethical and effective AI adoption, and aligning with broader strategic initiatives. Our mission is threefold:
Nurture AI Talents:
To cultivate and develop AI competencies among project professionals, equipping them with the skills needed to lead in an AI-augmented future in Hong Kong, GBA and Asia. Our Master Trainers and Certified Trainers would run various upskilling activities for our members and the public.
Align with HKSAR AI Strategy and National Priorities:
To support and contribute to the AI development goals outlined in the HKSAR Policy Address, while also aligning with national strategic initiatives such as the Belt and Road Initiative. We aim to foster innovation, digital transformation, and cross-border collaboration across industries.
Additionally, we are committed to supporting the refinement of Hong Kong’s AI-related legal frameworks by drawing on international best practices and adapting them to local contexts, thereby strengthening regulatory completeness and alignment with global standards.
Advance S.I.G.-Strategy aligned AI Frameworks:
To promote responsible AI adoption through an SIG-inspired lens:
o S: AI-Soft Skills, including mindset, values, attitude, “Three Views (三觀)” New Ways of Working (WoW), eco-system, ideology, and New AI Business Acumen.
o I: AI-Integration for all businesses and sectors.
o G: AI-Governance, methodology, standards, leadership, and oversight from risk, legal and delivery perspectives.
SIG Activities:
- Host workshops and webinars on AI governance, methodology, and soft skills.
- Collaborate with industry and government, semi-governance, universities and corporates on AI talent development initiatives.
- Develop resources and frameworks for AI project management and leadership.
