We are delighted to share the results of the PMI Region 9 Project Management Case Competition 2024. This competition brought together bright minds from universities across Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Mongolia. The enthusiasm, creativity, and dedication displayed by all participants were truly inspiring.
Overview of the Competition
The competition was designed to provide a platform for students to apply their academic knowledge to real-world project management challenges. Participants were given a case study and tasked with developing a comprehensive project plan. The case studies were carefully chosen to reflect the complexities and challenges faced in today’s dynamic project management landscape.
Participation and Response
The response to the competition was overwhelming. We received over 100 entries from 3 locations in the first round of competitions, each showcasing unique perspectives and innovative solutions. The diversity of ideas and the depth of understanding demonstrated by the participants were truly commendable. The winners from the local chapters were then invited to participate in the PMI Region 9 Project Management Case Competition 2024, which was completed successfully on 15 June 2024 with the active participation of 9 teams, comprised of the top 3 local winning teams from the PMI HK Chapter, PMI Taiwan Chapter, and PMI Mongolia Chapter.
Judging Process
The judging panel with a total of 9 judges coming from PMI APAC and PMI local chapters had the challenging task of evaluating the entries. Each submission was assessed on various parameters such as project design and benefits, project management application, and presentation skills. The judges were impressed by the high standard of the entries and the participants’ ability to think critically and creatively.
Competition Results
After a thorough evaluation, we are pleased to announce the winners of PMI Region 9 Project Management Case Competition 2024:
Champion: PM Experts from Hong Kong region
1st runner-up: TaskFlow from Mongolia region
2nd runner-up: Eco4Ring from Taiwan region
Congratulations to the winners! The university student entries stood out for their innovative approach, comprehensive project plans, and excellent presentation skills.
We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all participants for their hard work and dedication. The participation has made this competition a success. We also extend our thanks to our esteemed panel of judges for their time and expertise.

While we celebrate the winners, we believe that every participant is a winner. The experience and knowledge gained through this competition are invaluable. We encourage all participants to continue applying the skills and knowledge gained through this competition in their future endeavors.
The winning teams will be contacted individually regarding the prize distribution by PMI local chapter. Certificates of participation will be sent to all participating teams of the Grand Final round.
