Seminar on “Design Thinking: The good, the bad and the ugly in the marriage of Creativity and Agile Development” 

Design Thinking is a problem-solving approach and helps to increase customer satisfaction. We will share the common challenges project leaders need to tackle when adopting the process and how to avoid them.

About the Topic:

Design Thinking is an iterative approach for problem solving, commonly used to solve complex problems or create change.  Understanding both the head and heart (functional and emotional needs) of the customers and the team members who deliver the product/ services is the secret recipe to the success of your company.  Although this approach has been adopted by many big corporations for important strategic decisions and innovations, many teams have challenges to execute the ideas successfully. In this sharing, I will share on:

  • How companies apply Design Thinking to generate new ideas and develop digital transformation strategy?
  • What are the common challenges for cross team collaboration?
  • Why some companies adopt the transformation better than others?
  • What needs to be true for Design Thinking to adopt in your organization?

About the Speaker:

Miss Amy Ip is an expert in User Experience, Co-Founder and Managing Director of CaaS (an Innovation Design and Strategy consulting firm), she coaches team to practice design thinking in capturing opportunities. Previously, Amy was Head of Fjord Greater China (Part of Accenture Interactive) and she led Digital Transformation Programs helping clients develop experience strategies; her clients include banking, insurance, automobile, telecommunication, and retail industry.

Amy was a Senior Director & Design Expert at Tencent in 2011-2016; during her time served she managed design centers driving social networking and B2B platform products design from concept to launch. She has always been a user experience evangelist and had served as the Chairlady and Advisor at Tencent Design Committee.  She supported the committee to shape the career development of design discipline at Tencent, a community over 1200 members.

Amy was trained as an Interaction Designer and had received her Master of Designer at Carnegie Mellon University.  She has over 20 years of experience in bringing ideas to market and have driven design transformation within organization herself. Amy was the first Interaction Designer at Yahoo! Hong Kong in 2003, and she helped set up design process and tools for the development team in Hong Kong. She later joined Microsoft as Senior User Experience Designer in 2006.
