About the Program:
“Delivering your project with ease through NLP ”
Have you ever been frustrated by team conflict? Have you ever suffered from poor leadership in your team or by other stakeholders in a complex project? Does your project team have issues with regard to finding common expectations and goals? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you can make use of the powerful communication methodology of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) to create a positive working environment for your project team.
NLP was created in the 1970s as a method to promote personal change and communication by combining the best parts of different fields, including neurology (brain), linguistics (language) and systems (body) theory. From the NLP perspective, it is the interaction among the parts that produce effective or ineffective behavior, and those responsible for the processes behind both human excellence and pathology.
Project Managers in organizations are striving to streamline behavioral processes in order to align the technology advantage with an engaged and talented pool of team members. Despite the sophisticated project management discipline and tools that have been developed over many years, many projects are difficult to be managed efficiently due to a lack of understandings and appropriate communication between team members and other stakeholders.
This NLP live and interactive seminar addresses the underlying issues of project team management and explores with the attendees how to use NLP skills to achieve a relationship of trust, to understand different thought styles and identify the common goal to communicate, as well as dealing with the underlying tensions and issues effectively.

For 30 years, Mrs. Wong had extensive multi-national and multi-industry operations and project experiences to drive business performances and service excellence. These successes were, in part, results of her extensive work in business process and audit, based on Six Sigma, Capability Maturity Model (CMM), and International Standards Organization ISO 9000 Standards. In May 2009, Mrs. Wong took her sabbatical.
Over the years, Mrs. Wong had directed and launched numerous projects, including: the National SWIFT Fund Transfer System for First Bank Chicago and Minneapolis, USA; the Hospital Information Systems in Columbus Hospital and American Hospital in Chicago, USA; the CIM Systems in Shinjin, Taiwan; the Beijing Computing Center in Beijing, China; the POS Retail Banking System in Macau and Hong Kong. In the past 10 years as GM of Information Technology and Operations in Hongkong International Terminals and Hutchison Ports, Mrs. Wong led and re-engineered the Productivity Plus Program (3P) terminal systems (winner of the Computerworld Smithsonian Award in Transportation) to the Next Generation (nGEN) terminal solution (also winner of the APICTA and HKICTA), which became the standards for Hutchison Ports operations worldwide.

In 2007, she retired from the presidency and concentrated her development of portfolio and project professionals in the community, across the industries, and possibly, across the geographies. About the Program:
Managing Changes – From Stakeholder Resistance to Commitment
Managing change is a complex and major undertaking. Companies spend billions of dollars on projects and corporate initiatives; and achieving the right result is essential. But what should organizations focus on to make their initiatives more successful? In other words, how can companies take a practical and effective approach to change management?
Change management is loosely defined as the processes, tools and techniques utilized to manage the people side of change. Making change management practical means performing specific actions that help a company achieve a business objective and address the issues without making them more complicated. The practical and proven-effective way to accomplish this is with a defined process to: Communicate, Train, Align Roles & Responsibilities and Compensate & Motivate; or, adopting a CTAC© approach.
The number of participants is limited to 100 and applications will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis. Priority will be given to members of the PMO Club. To join the PMO Club, you only have to pay HK$100 a year. To register, please fill in the required information and submit. You will learn how to:
• Build successful relationships with all stakeholders
• Gain commitment to the project goal
• Keep a team focused and productive
• Communicate clearly during the planning
• Manage team expectations

"Personal data Privacy - What you should know as a PM and as an Individual"
The fight against terrorism in national security, new technological advances in ICT like RFID and data mining, genetic engineering, and the rise of social networks have all eroded personal data privacy, a basic human right. Identity theft and frauds are now the number one commercial crime in the US, with millions of individuals affected and corporations which had data lost or stolen spending million of dollars in damage control and regulatory fines, not to mention the loss of customers, of branding and reputation.
Project Managers have the obligation to ensure the systems under design and implementation should incorporate the relevant data protection and security principles to ensure protection of customers' and employees' personal data,, not only in compliance with privacy laws, but also to supplement proper corporate governance and instill business differentiation and competitiveness.

About the Speaker:
Horace Cheung, Managing Director of Yui Kee Co. Ltd., an admirer and importer of German wine.
He has all the good reasons to travel to Germany regularly since 1986 and short time before 2000 as he was attracted by Riesling, a noble variety of grape in the world. This grape is referred to as the queen of grapes. Since then his “good reason” got stronger and he keeps on searching his way into the wonderland of German wines.
He spent more time exploring the valleys in the wine regions of Germany, looking for wineries with rich culture and traditions, family history, vineyards, wine making and grape varieties. He often stayed at the wineries for days, getting hands-on experience and discussing with the winemakers.
Other than normal marketing studies on wine presentation and customer service level at the local wine shops, he found that site visits to the vineyards and cellars are important. He likes to collect samples at the vineyards; examine and compare the traditional cellars and equipment with state–of–the–art technology.
In 2005, he was ready to introduce German wine to the Hong Kong market. The wine came from the lower section of the Mosel River in the Mosel–Saar-Ruwer region. In 2006 he introduced other twenty-seven wines from Pfalz, the second biggest wine region in Germany, which is also known to the world as “the wine road of Germany”.
By making such rich and rare varieties available here in HK, Horace is able to work with many channels for trade and education. He wishes to attract more interest in wine tasting by associating German wine making with our Chinese tea culture & food paring.
He often arranges wine tasting and dinners. He has also organized wine tours to Germany and France to visit wineries & offer unique opportunity to his tour members with some involvements in the vineyards & cellars. A planning for New Zealand in 2009 is also under going.
About the Program:
“Wine, a gift from Mother Nature”
Wine as the result of many works & processes involved in the wine making; management are applied into every level but Mother Nature still has a crucial & dominant affect.

About the Program:
"Putting Innovation Technology in Practice"
"Universities are cradles for innovation technology. Professors lead teams of students trying hard day in and day out to achieve research excellence. While they are brilliant technology inventors, they are inexperienced in putting their innovation technology in practice. From another angle, technology companies in Hong Kong are also unfamiliar with how to captitalise these inventions. In this talk, I shall outline how technology transfer is achieved in the Chinese University of Hong Kong."

About the Speaker:
Ronald has had opportunities throughout his career to manage projects that involved project requirements that were gathered from 92 courtiers for a single global system and high volume transaction-based payment and delivery instructions, in a mission-critical financial environment, with daily turnover of billions of dollars in magnitude. For these projects, time-to market was the key to competitive advantage, and down-time of any system would cause heavy financial losses. Projects with such characteristics were complex, and competent project management skills were a key to their success. The aspect of human resources management was also a key success factor, since large projects of such magnitude involved hundreds of people working towards the same set of goals at the same time.
Ronald received a bachelor’s degree in Computing Science from Virginia Tech, and he attended Carnegie Mellon University’s Master of Science program in Computer Science.
About the Program:
One of the most apparent results of enterprise portfolio management is the introduction of a transparency that is unprecedented. When all the cards are on the table, it becomes easier to identify the pet projects, the questionable decision making, the empire building, the poorly executed plans, etc.
It is obvious that good decisions need good data. Obtaining good data is more elusive than one might expect. Leaders today are constantly managing escalations, researching status of projects, or trying to digest a constant barrage of updates. How much time is being spent on understanding the impact of the deployment of the effort? Have you identified the stakeholders for the initiative? Are you working with them by preparing and supporting their needs to adopt the changes required for a successful outcome? In other words, are you investing time in preparing your business constituents so that they can accept, adopt and advance the effort? When all of these efforts are performed by a team of people, leaders must optimize their performance by enabling solutions that provide for increased visibility, accountability, and control.
How to capture and disseminate certain key information that can influence project team behaviors and their abilities to judge what makes sense to do is the main theme of this presentation. If we can make project management practices common sense to every project team member, then it is the most effective way to run projects.
Implement Global Projects - Ensure nothing gets lost in translation
