About the Topic:
Project management can be adopted in all sectors and daily activities. Formal project management processes in the business sectors (such as IT and construction) and the government sectors have been practised for decades in Hong Kong. How about project management adoption in non-profit organisations (NPOs) or non-government organisations (NGOs)? They commence numerous projects every year to pursue their social missions to serve the society and the disadvantage groups. Do projects with social good missions work differently from commercial projects?
Dr. Tracy Ng, a vastly experienced IT Project Manager & Consultant, has applied her accomplished managerial and project management skills for the betterment of various social enterprises and the establishment of various social services and programs. This seminar will take a closer look at several case studies such as major fundraising projects and Ethical Consumption month (ECM) - a social marketing programme and share with the audience the essential factors to consider and approaches to adopt in project management of social good projects.
