About the Topic:

Would it get built today ?

The speaker will revisit stories of some of Arup’s prominent projects, e.g. the Sydney Opera House, Centre Pompidou and the Hong Kong Bank Building, and ask: “Would visionary and innovative buildings get built today?”  Faced with all the project management imperatives and political drivers, how can we aspire to and attain a higher level of quality for our built environment?  A case is made that Hong Kong deserves the best and that professionals have an unprecedented vital responsibility.
