PMI Hong Kong Chapter is proud to introduce Mr. Michael Ngo & Mr. Simon Beeson to share the captioned topic. Mr. Michael Ngo has extensive experience in the areas of business consulting and project management whilst Mr. Simon Beeson is a senior project and change management professional specialising in project review, evaluation, recovery and uplift. Both speakers are from SMS Management & Technology’s Program and Project Services Practice, are currently based in Hong Kong and have provided project management and business consulting for major corporations from ICT, financial services, transport industry, government sectors in various regions around the world.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Michael Ngo

Michael Ngo has over 10 years of management consulting experience, supporting large multinationals develop and implement innovative business and technology solutions. He has worked with major organisations such as Merrill Lynch, ANZ, AXA Cathay Pacific and with Australian state and federal government departments in diverse and complex IT and business projects & programs.

In recent years, Michael has:
• Led the establishment of a PMO for Australia’s largest telecommunications company
• Programme Managed the implementation of Anti-Money Laundering / Counter Terrorism Financing policies, processes, systems and structures to 22 countries across Asia Pacific for a super regional bank
• Developed a multi-year business case that is taking the catering operations of a 5 star international airline to the next generation - cutting wastage, improving operational efficiency and business intelligence
• Been supporting insurance multinationals implement innovative products.
Michael has worked extensively across Australia, North America and Asia. Michael is currently based in Hong Kong and is a Practice Lead for SMS Management & Technology's Program and Project Services Practice. Michael is also the President of Melbourne Business School's Hong Kong Alumni Chapter.
Michael has a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) from the University of Melbourne; an MBA from Melbourne Business School and The Fuqua School of Business (Duke) and scholarships from Peking University and Beijing Normal University. Prior to SMS, Michael worked for The Nous Group (a leading strategy consultancy), IBM Business Consulting Services and PwC Consulting.

Mr. Simon Beeson

Simon Beeson has over 10 years of project and change management consulting experience, specialising and leading in project evaluation & review, strategy formulation and execution, project recovery, benefits uplift and optimisation. He has worked with major organisations across the Financial Services, Aviation & Transport, Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries in Europe, the Middle East and most recently in Asia.

With a career spanning the Financial Services, Aviation & Transport, Oil & Gas, and Manufacturing sectors, his assignments have included:
• Re-location of a manufacturing & distribution operation with zero customer-impact
• Leading all business-change aspects of several major IT system implementations
• End-to-end set-up & management of a fully regulated European e-commerce business
• Establishment or optimisation of numerous PMOs

Simon leads the SMS Management & Technology ‘Project Review & Recovery’ Capability Pillar in Asia, providing short-term, high-impact assessment of client’s strategic initiatives, accompanied by practical recommendations for enhancement.

He has a Management degree and a Masters’ in Human Resource Development, and holds the PMP, PMI-Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP), and PRINCE2 Practitioner credentials.

In his free time he enjoys trail-running and studying the Chinese language - his most challenging project to-date.
