Mr. Simon Cheung Scanlon
Simon, from Ireland, holds a B.A. Hons in European Studies with Italian Language, Trinity College, Dublin. He is an experienced corporate trainer, and has an English Language training Certificate (Department of Education, Ireland). Simon has been delivering academic and business writing and speaking courses in Hong Kong since 2008. He started his career as a communications trainer in Cathay Pacific, and since then has worked with many leading names in the retail, hospitality and business sectors including HSBC, LVMH, Conrad Hotel and Island Shangri-La Hotel. Simon favours an interactive approach, and sees continued learning as essential for career and personal development.

Introduction to Western Cuisine and Dining Etiquette Workshop

Entertaining business clients and colleagues is an integral part of our working environment these days. What would help make this an enjoyable event and give a good impression of you?

As this is also a social occasion, apart from the obvious business discussions, you also need to be conversant in the cuisine, current affairs and everyday topics. This workshop provides you with an introduction to food and beverage, how Western food differs from Chinese food, as well as some basic etiquettes of Western dining to make a good impression. The topics for the evening will be:

- Chinese and Western Cuisine: How do they differ?
- Different Cooking Styles: methods, equipment and effectsT
- The Basics of Wine
- Courses of a Western meal
- The layout of a place setting: cutlery and glasswareI
- Interacting with the Waiter
- Basic Table Manners
- Polite Conversation with GuestsP
- Practice

Light snacks will be provided at the workshop.


What’s in it for you?
