Project Management Seminar Series – Seminar No. 3: - Contract Management of MTR Projects

The Seminar is jointly organized with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers – the Project Management Specialist Group (Patron Division: MMNC) and the Young Members Committee.

Programme Highlights:
MTR Corporation has developed over the years a philosophy to manage the procurement and contracts administration of its railway projects with emphasis on openness, equitable risk sharing, collaborative working, non-confrontation and value creative.

The seminar will cover the development of procurement and contracts administration for MTR projects from conventional lump sum remeasurement, design and build to the modern target cost contract, with focus on the form of contracts being employed by MTR on the five major new projects. The 3-tier dispute resolution model under the MTR Corporation form of contract will also be explained in the seminar.

Speaker:
Ir Eddie Leung is MTR’s Contracts Administration Manager for the Kwun Tong Line Extension. Eddie is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, Member of the HKIE and Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. Eddie has developed his career as a quantity surveyor / contracts administrator for 25 years. He has taken part in the procurement and contract administration of various railway and airport projects in the Far East, notably HK Chek Lap Kok Airport, Taiwan High Speed Rail and the Kwun Tong Line Extension.
