What credentials does PMI offer?
The PMP® is the most distinguished and valued credential you can obtain in project management, while the CAPM® is considered an essential step for project team members, practitioners new to project management, as well as qualified undergraduate and graduate students. Through two new certifications of the OPM3® ProductSuite: PMI Certified OPM3 Assessor and PMI Certified OPM3 Consultant, PMI presents an opportunity for those in the assessment and consulting community to support organizations looking to improve their enterprise-wide project management maturity and capability. Whatever your level of professional knowledge and experience, PMI credentials offer a well-structured pathway to professional growth that is likely to lead to personal and career advancement.
To be eligible for a PMP® or CAPM® Credential, you must first meet specific educational and/or project management experience requirements and agree to adhere to a code of professional conduct. The final step in gaining your credential is a rigorous multiple-choice examination designed to objectively assess your project management knowledge. The PMP examination utilizes scenario or application-based questions where practitioners are asked to apply their knowledge to specific situations. The CAPM examination utilizes definition type of questions assessing candidates' knowledge of project management terms and context in which project management is practiced.
