Panel Discussion Forum

In this panel discussion, PMO Club has invited several seasoned industry experts in sharing with us the insights and practical experience of the Project and Programme Management related realm in Hong Kong and in the region. Mr. Anthony Lung, the Chairman of PMO Club and Vice President of Certification in PMI HK Chapter will be the facilitator of this forum, together with the President of PMI HK Chapter as well as the leaders from IT, Engineer, Young PM and PMO Club, in exploring the key concepts of the Project & Programme Management realm particularly in the area of Performance Improvement, Project & Programme Management Maturity, PMO Functions and Implementation, etc.

About the Panelists
Panelist #1: Mr. Raymond Wong, PMP, M.Sc.
President of PMI Hong Kong Chapter

Mr. Wong is very passionate about the professionalism in project management. He was one of the founders of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Hong Kong Chapter in 1997 and has been serving as an Executive Committee Member of the Hong Kong Chapter since then. Being a seasoned executive and project director with expertise in Information Technology, Raymond understood the significance of professional project management and its importance to an organization.

Panelist #2: Mr. Anthony Lung, PMP, Certified IT Project Director
Chair of Project Management Office (PMO) Club, PMIHK

Mr. Lung currently is the PMO Manager of a global IT vendor with extensive background in program and project management. He focuses on large scale multi-disciplinary projects in the region. As a PMO leader, he establishes proactive organizations, providing both thought leadership and facilitating successful performance. He is also an instructor of project management courses in local universities.

Panelist #3: Mr. Danny Chung, PMP, MBA, CISA, CGEIT
Vice Chair of PMO Club, PMIHK

Mr. Chung has been in the IT industry for twenty years. His project portfolio covers Europe, North America and Asia. His PMO experience includes Banking and Finance, Insurance, and Sports Entertainment. He is an active member in HK PM/IT community since he returned from Toronto where he served in PMI Southern Ontario Chapter (SOC) and found Greater Toronto Information System Special Interest Group (GT IS SIG). He is also the founding executive member of PMO Club and currently serving as VP of Marketing in PMIHK.

Panelist #4: Mr. Thomas K. Y. Wai, PMP, MMgt
Chair of Young Project Manager Club (Young PM Club), PMIHK

Mr. Wai manages a variety of client implementation projects across Asia and Europe. He has over 10 years’ experience in executing and managing projects, mainly in the financial sector. Project communication, project integration management, leadership and conflict management are some of his personal research interests.

Panelist #5: Ms. Christine YAU, PMP, PRINCE2 registered Practitioner,
Certified IT Project Director
Chair of PM Club for IT Professionals, PMIHK

Ms. Yau has been appointed as the Chairman of the IT Government Contractor Club, which is an outreach arm of PMI HK Chapter, since June 2007. She has held various roles such as Project Director, Quality Assurance Manager, IT Architect and DBA, in both Hong Kong and Australia.

Panelist #6: Ir Alex Leung, BEng, MBA, RPE, FHKIE, CEng, FIMechE, FICE,
Chair of Engineer Club, PMIHK

Alex is a reputable professional in the construction industry. He has extensive project management experience on various reputable infrastructure projects in Asia. Alex is the Immediate Past Chairman of the MC Division of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE). He is also the Past Chairman of the Young Members Committee of the HKIE.
